Everything Torrent Thread

So i decided to cave in and finally get in on the Torrent craze. So with that said, some questions for those of you that are vets to the torrent scene.
im using the BitTorrent client and have an account with DIME. (by the way, for those trying to get a DIME account, just have some patience. i was lucky enough to basically only have to refresh twice before a spot opened up).

Questions:
1. So it seems the only true way to up my share ratio is to upload stuff. the problem is that i dont really have any FLAC or lossless stuff to upload. Anyone have any suggestions?
2. The stuff i did download i am also seeding, how long should i seed for? Also, once i move it from its original folder will it be removed from the seed tree?
3. is there any etiquette (sp?) that i should be aware of? like do i need to always thank someone i downlaod from, that kind of stuff.

Let the items seed until you at least u/l as much as you d/l. Some clients can be set to do this automatically.

Ideally if you want to build up credit seed 200% of the popular torrents because many times you will find some oddball torrent that you download, that no one else is interested in, and that hurts the ratio

Also some site (I think dime is one) allow you to give them 10-20 bucks to keep you in good standings. Sometimes this is worth is.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">You don't need to upload any torrents yourself...just keep seeding the one you are downloading so that others, who jumped on after you have an opportunity to grab the torrent as well.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">Seed it as long as you can. Usually the download is ready in a short amount of time. Listen to the songs and keep it seeded til you have to close it.
I keep it on for at least another day.
Of course, once you rename or remove the torrent folder people can no longer d'load the torrent from you anymore...

If I would upload a torrent and 50 people grab it but only one bothers to say thanks it would piss me off and I'm pretty sure it would piss you off as well...
